Whether you eat at home or outside, there are other choices, you can do to eat healthy and cut calories out in order to avoid fried foods.
Vegetables * Add as many as possible home-prepared foods
* Cutting down on calorie-laden sauces
* Fat-free or low fat does not mean calorie-free
* Drink less juice. It is better to eat fruit than drink fruit juice.
* Choose to eat more foods that are high in fiber and / or water, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and beans
* Enjoy the broth-based soup made with vegetables, beans and / or lean cuts of meat
* Consider eating fruit for dessert or no dessert at all
* Eat meals and snacks before you hungry
* Choose to drink more water or unsweetened tea and fewer soft drinks and juices
* Back to butter, margarine, mayonnaise or Cut
* Use oil sparingly
* Eat smaller portions. A good rule of thumb is for each serving something bigger than your hand or the amount of food could fit into your hand set.
* Read the nutrition labels on packaging and ingredients and canned goods to choose foods with fewer calories and better nutrition. Do not be misled by food manufacturers claims on the front or top of the pack. These requirements can be very misleading!
* Look for cereals with high fiber and low in sugar
* Make a list of your favorite nutritious snacks 100 calories or less and keep this list on the refrigerator to remind you of the healthier choices you can make
* Keep the calorie-rich sweets, desserts and snacks out of sight and even better, from your home
* Find something to do with your hands when you’re watching TV or eating. You can try drawing, knitting, crocheting or other crafts.
* Teach yourself not just from a package or container of food. Serve yourself a small amount and leave the rest out of reach and out of sight!
